We're looking for an amazing technologist to be the Architect/Principal Engineer in our SBSEG organization, expanding our global footprint and transforming the QuickBooks product to a highly scalable, performant and delightful product for customers. QuickBooks is world's No. 1 Cloud Accounting solution serving millions of small & medium businesses worldwide. We are looking for a talented and bright Staff Software Engineer to help us accelerate our growth worldwide. Imagine working on a code that’s going through a major refactoring with 3+ million paid users, serving 160+ countries worldwide, multiple languages and released on monthly/weekly basis. The target architecture is micro services and Java based back end platform and React JS, GraphQL and Relay/Redux technology for the front end. You will be working in startup mode mentality and everyday will greet you with interesting challenges. You job is to ensure we maintain our architecture goals working out of our India Bangalore team and collaborating with other technical leaders worldwide.

Drive the design and architecture of key components

Mentor and guide other engineers in the team

Be viewed as the technology leader of the team

Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, Finance, Sales, Care, Analytics, cross functional PD teams, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results

Be passionate about solving customer problems. Develop solutions that result in a passionate customer/community following

Be bold and have the ability to innovate and challenge status quo

Participate in and contribute to design and code reviews.Qualifications14+ years’ experience designing and developing scalable, distributed and highly available systems.

BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience

Strong working knowledge in Java

Excellent working knowledge of AWS, building scalable and resilient services that leverage native AWS capabilities. Have proven expertise in building web scale cloud applications.

Experience in Web front end frameworks, experience with React & GraphQL is added advantage, not mandatory.

Strong software architecture and design skills, with focus on distributed systems and scalability

Excellent leadership skills, working with immediate teams as well as cross functional teams spanning the organization

Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with strong emphasis on agile development

6+ years’ experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST

Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

Passionate about unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Have a DevOps mentality – you own what you deploy in production

Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies.
