Job Description Summary

As a Lead UI Developer at Transamerica, you will play a key role in defining how digital products are delivered to our customers. You will be a code contributor, thought leader, and delivery partner across the organization translating work from our product design group

into scalable, durable, and quickly iterable experiences.

Job DescriptionResponsibilities

Evolve an existing enterprise-wide engagement-layer architecture to support a global design system and multiple customer-facing products that provide value to millions of customers and manage billions of dollars in assets.Collaborate with product designers, product owners, and agile team members to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.Evaluate UI technologies and delivery approaches to support existing products and deployment paradigms as well as new endeavors.Communicate approach, progress, and future plans with executive stakeholders from across the business.Evangelist for modular development practices for rapid iteration of presentation code.Code contributor in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS across multiple frameworks and tools.


Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience. 8+ years of experience in UI technologies including web, mobile, and CMS channels.4+ years working with modern MV* libraries such as Angular, React, Vue.js, etc.Experience with accessibility / ADA Compliance; AA, W3, etc.Mastery of core JavaScript, and familiarity with ES6+ and/or TypeScript.Experience with WebPack, Gulp, or other Build tools within NodeJS.Solid understanding of E2E Internet application architecture including browser concepts, HTTP, REST, GraphQL, and Security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field with 5 years experience is also acceptable.Passionate about producing simple, consistent, maintainable, well-tested code.Experience with mature SDLC, GIT, and CI/CD practices to facilitate rapid deployments.Experience with back-end technologies, Java and .NET preferred.Experienced with functional and automated testing and focused on quality engineering.

Strong experience working in agile environments with a perspective on how to deliver successfully as a team.Assist in hiring for both skills and culture fit.Communicate at the executive stakeholder level as well as the agile team level to facilitate alignment, commitment, and velocity.Manage a small team of UI developers; responsible for basic staffing and 1 on 1 growth.
