Backend Software Engineer (API - node.js)

Has experience working with the following technologies:

-Node.js or Python

-JavaScript flavors of ES6 or TypeScript

-JavaScript front end frameworks: React or Vue.js

-JavaScript data layers: Redux, GraphQL, or Apollo

-JavaScript backend frameworks: Express or Meteor

-JavaScript testing frameworks: Mocha, Jest, or Jasmine; also automated testing with Selenium

-Millions to tens of millions of records in a NoSQL database: MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Hadoop, HBase, DynamoDB, Couchbase, or Google Bigtable

-Distributing data across different multiple database types

-Determining and executing what work is needed to scale cloud database infrastructure continually, next 6 months 10x, 6 months after that 100x, 6 months after that 1000x, etc.

-Multi-system communication experience: REST, MQ, EDI, integration with WMS, ERP, etc.

-DevOps using the concepts of infrastructure as code, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and site reliability engineering

-DevOps related tools like Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, or Jenkins

-Actively utilizes test drive development (TDD), object oriented design, design patterns and can mentor others in these concepts through pair programming

-Experience with Extreme Programming (XP) software development methodology a plus

Has work experience with:

-Open source environment and are comfortable going outside of a purely Microsoft environment

-Saas (Software as a Service) based companies

-Teams of 6+ developers, optimally as a strong communicator or leader

-Teams that are utilizing or moving to microservice architecture (highly maintainable and testable, loosely coupled, independently deployable to cloud infrastructure, more resilient to architecture erosion)
